About and data sources

The MCS-150 Update Tracker is an independent reference. It is not affiliated with FMCSA or the U.S. Department of Transportation. It shows when a carrier's biennial update is due and what FMCSA's public data says about its last update, and explains how to file for free.

Who runs it

Where the data comes from

• Due dates are calculated from the USDOT number using the schedule in 49 CFR 390.19T(b).
• Carrier name, city, state, USDOT status and last MCS-150 date come from FMCSA's public carrier census data on data.transportation.gov, refreshed daily. Each result shows the date of the data it used.
• The Motus pause comes from FMCSA's registration pages, re-checked when this site is reviewed.

Public data can lag a recent filing. The official record is in Motus Public Search.

What we don't do

• We don't file forms or take payment for filing.
• We don't show carriers' phone numbers, email addresses or street addresses.
• We don't email carriers who haven't signed up.
• Nothing here is legal advice.
